School Trustees have many important responsibilities. It is essential that School Trustees have professional expertise in educational policy, and financial management, as they are responsible for setting the school board’s overall policy direction and budget. Effective School Trustees represent the present and future community, parents and students.
Dr. Jason Price is uniquely prepared to effectively represent Sidney on the SD 63 School Board! Dr. Price has a deep and rich education and professional experience in educational policy development and leadership. Dr. Price’s two daughters graduated from School District 63 and his son is currently a student at North Saanich Middle School.
Dr. J.M.C. Price is a former K-12 teacher, educational administrator, school founder, and development executive with the Canadian International Development Agency. He has received a numerous awards for his teaching and scholarship.Presently, Dr. Price is an Associate Professor and teaches undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Victoria. Some of Dr. Price’s current courses include Mass Media and Education, Global Education, Elementary, and Secondary Social Studies Education. Dr. Price is a member of the UVic CORE and Indigenous Education Board of Advisors. Dr. Price is the former Vice-President of the University of Victoria Faculty Association and the Nipissing University Faculty Association, and Trustee with the Canadian Association of University Teachers. Dr.Price is the co-founder and former Regional Director, and member of the Board of Advisors of the Harvard Association Cultivating Inter-American Democracy.
